Collaborating with two other architectural firms, we developed a masterplan centred around ‘sense of place’, for the first third of this 485 Hectare former chalk quarry in Kent

The character of each area was derived from its orientation, topography and location. A holistic and wide-ranging environmental strategy was also developed for both the buildings and the site itself, to make the scheme a leading example of a sustainable community and a model for future large scale developments of this type. We concluded with the design of a range of appropriate housing typologies and a series of recommendations for plot development within the context of the wider plan.
